According to data collected by the Polish Border Guard, about 8.2 million people from Ukraine have arrived in Poland since February 24, 2022. During the same period, about 6.4 million people returned to Ukraine. This means almost two million additional consumers arrived in Poland in less than a year. Before the war, there were about 1.5 million people from Ukraine living in Poland. As a result, there are now about 3.3 million Ukrainian citizens living in Poland permanently. Given the still ongoing hostilities and the anticipated economic hardship afterward, this number could even double in the coming years.
